An elite-level mind is what makes a lawyer successful. The quick wit and extreme focus to details in the midst of stress equates to a marathon. It is a wrong assumption that our intellectual abilities are static. The finding of neuroscience research shows that our mental states are more like plastic, and malleable. To keep up with the tough challenges in their career, lawyers need to train their mind like athletes train their body. The article suggests two powerful practices i) sprint and recover and ii) notice-shift-rewire for us to raise our baseline state of mental capabilities.
